i dont know if you remember Wilesy thread about a month ago, i think it was titled What you dont want to see when you go 4wding, it was about a a motor cycle accident on the putty rd, where the rider had to be airlifted out.
Well i was on my way down the Hume highway on friday night heading down to compete in clubkhana, when the traffic came to a grinding halt, a chopper came down and landed about 5oo metres in front of us, a truck had clipped a car and pushed it into the path of of the biker, sending its rider over the roof and into the concrete guard rail. not a pretty sight, the biker was not at fault and was an innocent victim of other peoples carelessness, we were held up for an hour before they let us pass and closed the highway.

theres no way in the world i would ride a motorbike down the Hume highway in the dark on a week night, the amount of semi trailers is just ridiculous, most of the drivers are on drugs too, its scary enough driving down there in a fourby

Mate,

Thats' terrible news, and yes I remember that thread oh so well unfortunately.

I miss my road riding days very much, but I am glad I promised the wife to give them away for good.

20 years ago, when I rode bikes a lot was a little different to how trafic behaves today.

I think that gave me the experience to become a good driver and if you ask my opinion, I think everyone should do a little time on a Motor Bike, just to see the dangers of others driving with total disregard to bike riders.....

exactly, it was the bikers fault, from what i heard on the truckies channel UHF40, the car cut in front of the semi, the semi clipped the car, the car spun into the next lane and the poor bugger on the bike got wiped out, he must of been pretty messed up, the paramedics were working on him on the ground for about 45 minutes before they put him in the chopper

Yeh i wouldnt like to ride on the road. My grandad got T-boned by a double decker bus and dragged undeneath it till it came to a stop. He survived thankfully.
