JB...one1one is my son.........

He has just ordered a new Rav4 3 door which we are lowering (?) & fitting 19"'s to..............
i hate jetskis and those that ride them, they are irresponsible assholes, i often take my boat up the river to go water skiing, and there will be ten of these dickheads on the water, youll be towing a skier along behind these wankers and one of them will pull a 180 degree turn right in front of you without even looking behind to see whats coming, forcing you to drop your skiers, no wonder they banned them from sydney harbour, there all wankers with no consideration for other waterway users, they should be outlawed i hate them and the dick heads that ride them

Well thank you for sharing that with me......James & I have waterski'd all our life.....he is the immediate past President of the Australian Jet Sport Boating Assoc., and has acted as their spokesman in NSW & Qld for some years.
After getting his boat license as a school sports project 15 years ago, I think James earned the right to speak from a position of experience.
Over the years, James (&I) have raced Bikes, Cars, Boats, Karts & anything else we could afford.
We are not lightweights, (no pun intended), we have done it.
James has also run, in conjunction with Qld Waterways, many ride days to try to establish communication with Gov., Riders & Boaters.
Waterskiers are always the worst represented group in boating
If you have an opinion, get involved........

Sorry Taz, I was just being proud of my son, his new Race Ski is so cool. Unfortunately he decided to buy a new car for his other half and he chose a new 3door Rav........
Now he wants to lower it...............
DNA testing says he is my son.......
yeah no worries Blu, they are just my own experiences, im sure there are responsible jet ski rider/owners out there, ive just never come across one yet, sounds like your young blokes pretty keen and i say good on him, its good for young guys to be passionate about their hobbies, as long as he respects other users on the water its all good, sounds like hes pretty responsible, like i said i was only relaying my own experiences with the local clowns, hope your not offended

Hi-luxmadness ,
Mate, I never get offended, but I also don't open my keyboard if I don't know what I'm talking about........
How many times have we talked about irresponsible 4WD Clubs, or 4wd'ers doing silly things.............
After about 30 years of waterskiing, I have seen plenty of MORONS, which is why we skied in the upper reaches of the Brisbane River @ Moggill for a long time.
The reason why my son, James, got involved in the politics of Jet Ski's is because he cared.

thats good stuff blu, if he cares and is responsible its good to see him takin up the cause for others who are responsible, i ski at the nepean river, (penrith) and along the hawkesbury near sackville NSW, its the same old story though, a few dickheads that spoil it and make a bad name for th rest, although when it comes to jet skiers on the nepean river it seems the majority are dick heads, maybe james could come down and teach em a thing or too about respecting other river users

I have to fix my brothers boat so we can get out again :(
while were on this subject Blu, my uncle breifly owned one of the sit down style jetskis a couple of years ago and i spent a c few hours playing on it in botany bay, i had a bit of fun jumpin a few swells on it, but it soon became boring, i dont see the exitement in riding them on flat water like the nepean river where the biggest wave is 8 inches of wash from a ski boat. i once saw a video of some guys jumpin over 20 foot waves in hawai on jet skis, now thats more my style, it looked like some serious fun. ;D

I got one 8)
Well I had one until recently, I had a brand new 3 person Polaris for about a year.
Great fun for a while, but it got a little boring when they banned them from Sydney Harbour >:(
Lost a bomb when I sold it >:(

Lost a bomb wilsey?
Just how do you go about loosing a landie that easily? ???
And i absolutely hate them, they are noisy, the riders are majority arseholes, and they interupt the fishing >:(
Ive lost count of how many lines ive lost from jet skiers out of their allocated area and into the fishing zone down the Murray mouth! >:(

Hey HLM, not all jetski riders are assholes unfortunately its the minority that recks it for everyone else. I ride one and love it they are great fun but when riding I make sure that noboby is close and then Ill do a 180 or 360 so nobody has to guess what im doing.

This is great.....
It sounds here like what the public say about 4 wheel drivers >:(
That's the problem with everyone, is you get a few cowboys and everyone puts them into the same category.
I thought we better than most people, knew better than that :-\

with jet skiers its not just a few cowboys, id say that 95% of em are cowboys, ive nearly run over a coupl ef em in my boat, its really annoying when they pull a 180 degree turn only a a couple of hundred metres in front of you

95% eh.....
What do you say to people who say the same about 4 wheel drivers...?
Then again, you don't buy a jetski to piddle around at 8 knotts in a straight line.....
Then again, you don't put on a 7 inch lift and super swampers to drive the suburbs either......
the silly bastards just need to be educated better when they get their PWC licences, i reckon a a couple of the idiots i nearly run over will be more careful in future, i think they shat their wet suits when they saw 19 foot of fibreglass coming at them at 40 knots ;D

Yeah look,
They are only out there to have a bit of fun, just like we are when we go bush.
I paid $16,000 for mine when I had it, and had a lot of fun on it.
You can't deny the fact that if you had an opportunity to give one a fang, you would refuse?
Come out with us for the day, and we will change your mind ;D
They really are a lot of fun, and as the saying goes, the water is there for us to share....

ive had a go on one, my uncle used to have one, it got boring after a couple of hours, id like to have a go one in the surf though, jumping waves would be pretty good i reckon, i spent 10,ooo on a boat instead, its far more versatile, i use it for skiing, fishing, etc and it has plenty of room for the mrs and kids too

ROTFLOL,
Yeah, I agree they are boring after a while, but then again many would say that driving in the bush is boring after a while too.. There's a tree.. and another, and another.... get what I mean....
Everyone to their own I suppose, I was bored as well, that's why I sold mine.
Lot of fun for the first few months of ownership though....

theres nothing boring about hardcore wheelin, im not really into long distance touring, i find that a little boring, big rock steps, deep mud, and feral wash outs, now thats exciting

yeah,
I agree that you and I find that stuff orgasmic, though I know plenty of people who prefer to watch grass grow :-\
My wife included...... ::)
hehe i got flamed on here once HLM for bagging the ricers in Sydney........ because i said that they ALL drove like maniacs..... and like you with the jet ski guys...... i have YET to see a ricer drive responisbly in Sydney...... i thought i saw one once... but he soon saw another ricer and took off after him at a million miles per hour...... i guess there are responsible ones out there.... but i haven't seen one yet. Just like your jet skiers.......... nothing against your son Chris...... i'm sure he is responsible.

I guess I got spoiled in the years I lived on the Gold Coast, as the Broadwater is a superb area for boating.
BTW, James recently sold his intercooled, supercharged, four stroke Sea Doo two seater...........made about 210hp and did about 75mph.
There is noone on this Forum who wouldn't have got a buzz riding that thing.................about 25 grand though.......

Id love a jet ski, but i do think id get bored of it. I think ill stick to my motorbike
BTW your always gonna have idiots every where. Theres gonna be the yobbo 4wdrivers that give everyone else a bad name. Same with motorbike riding, hunting etc...

we had a jet ski for a while it was cool untill dad sold it. the biggest problem with them is the amount of petrol they burn. ours cost more to run than the ski boat
