1/16 is pretty small. Most nitro r/c cars are 1/10 or 1/8. Though if you can get it cheap enough it woud be good fun. Keep in mind you can buy 1/10 nitro's for around $300.

I own a HSP Tyranno that I bought 2nd hand for $160. As for parts there shouldn't be many if any problems as this site handles HSP gear and forum info Plaig RC Hobbies :: Index (http://www.plaig.com.au/phpbb/index.php) (so long as you don't want the bit ASAP)
