A year ago, every shop had a range of rims for L series Subies. This year, no-one has any. Anyone know where I can get a good set of Sunraysia style rims for a Subie?

Speedy used to make them.
They're actually not a good rim as the centre-spigot hole is too big and the offset is wrong. You should get a set of Scorpion rims.

Sweet. The 14" rims are exactly what we were looking for. Thanks. :o)

Turns out Speedy still make Desert Rats to suit Subaru L series in a 14" size. Guy from work went out and bought some and has so far had considerable issues getting them to run properly. Mucking about with different tyres has helped a lot, but he's still not 100% happy as there is some wobble at high speed. The difference in offset is pretty marked. I'll post an update once the tyre shop tres a couple more things out.

Is that Nathan ? Rumours must be true. Your still alive ;)
How about some custom made centrelines ? :D
Performance also make some alloy wheels for the 4 stud subies.

Yes LOL
I once knew this guy who had a kick-ass RX Turbo that he sold and bought an Extra-Cab Hilux.

Yeah. I know him pretty well too. He does miss the subie sometimes. Subaman Grant bought it so at least its still in the 'family'. Had a look at your old red rocket up the beach last year. Would be a good fun car.

Yeah, Tom said he needed to remove the 4" lift to get it registered - sux to be in Queensland I guess. I log onto Ausubaru at times but there are just seem to be too many kids on there asking stupid questions.
Can if fit 33s on my Brumby without a lift kit?!? Hell no!

It can be interesting sometimes, bit like every forum though. We should probably stop hijacking this thread though.

FWIW, the 14" Speedies are not too bad. The Scoprions look better/nicer, but are more than twice the price. SWMBO has also bought some flexy flares to deal with the extra rubber now showing from under her Subie.

Always the way, soon as you buy something it turns up in the Trading Post for cheaper. She's already got the Speedies on her Subie now. They fit alright, though I did put a set of Flexy Flares on the front.

Here is what the 14" Speedies look like. I had to fit Flexie Flares on the front, but the wheels do clear everything. They are not as smooth as the original 13" rims, but not too much so. I put the extra feel to the larger diameter giving more road feel than anything else. Sounds like tyre choice can have a big impact on handling.
