Hey all, i want to fit these standard rear hilux springs to the front end of my solid axle 1986 YN67 hilux and need some help and information on the topic before i go ahead. I have heard it gives you a better approach angle due to moving the diff forward 50mm so i know i will need a driveshaft spacer if this is correct. But what else? I like to be prepared to do the entire job in one hit without all the little surprises so i am asking if anyone has done this before to let me know whats involved in the operation and also what the advantages/disadvantages of this modification are. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,

id say an adjustable torque rod and adjustable drop drag link, tail shaft spacer, i think you will need axle relocation plates but im not sure on that. there was a thread on this not long ago. think demonic started it

+ possably extended brake lines, but I think for all the effort 50mm really isn't going to make much differance + loosing ROAngle, fitting bigger dia tyres would be a better option as this will increase the clearance under the diff pumpkin, increase the ramp over angle and your approach and departure

I already have extended brake lines and adjustable torque rod. To fit bigger tyres without rubbing i either need to do a body lift (which i was trying to avoid) or move the diff forward 50mm, hence the reason i was looking at this modification. And to my knowledge you do not need relocation plates if your using rear springs, apparently the pin on the bottom of the REAR spring is already 50mm different to a standard front one so you just slot it into the existing hole. I could be wrong though.

I'd Rather Do A Body Lift Than Move Diffs Around?
Bodylift Is Alot Easier?
Do You Want To Go Bigger Than 33"?

Nah 33s are all i want and i have been talking this through with a few mates and have decided just to do the body lift and be done with it. Its far to much hassle for not much achieved. But thanks everybody for your input.
