View Full Version : Putting dual battery kit in my 1994 single cab hilux

hey guys i'm putting a dual battery kit in my hilux it has a welded back and i cant find any where to put the second battery besides in the tray does any body eles have any ideas where i can put it that would be hidden i'm going to get the batteries this week some time as my current main batttery is on its way out so i thought i might be able to get a disscount if i buy all the stuff together.

i forgot to mention my hilux is a 2.8D
i think arb or tjm do a battery tray for the engine bay , you just have to move a few things

no mate i dont, i think piranah would probably be your best bet, wait a couple of hours and there will be more people on here, seeing as though your hilux is probably the most common , some one would have done it already and will be able to tell you everything. have a look in the toyota section and there is some pics on the post a couple below this one , it is in a 2.7 petrol but it will give you an idea.

yea thankx for the help eldo i just had another look in my enginge bay there is room for to fit a battery it is very close to the extractors though i'm not sure how the heat will affect the battery if heat does affect would putting the battery in a box be enough insulation
i think in your vehicle the battery goes where the overflow bottle is and you move the overflow bottle

thanx for the help eldo those pics helped me out heaps i'm gonna go get some pieces to start making the tray
glad i could help, can you make one for me now aswell, since i did all the research for you !!! LOL make sure mine fits the 2003 TD hilux ok !!!!!
