... another 6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp".
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct.

I think you'd all hafta agree that the original post to this thread is a gross oversimplification of the whole process!

Besides, there was NO mention of any regulatory bodies or training authorities!

Yes, #1 rule, in australia, only LICENSED electricians may change a lightbulb. So, who here had being doing illegal electrical work aroun home?

Yes. Number one rule in Australia is that only LICENSED electricians may change a light bulb. So who from this Forum has being doing illegal electrical work around their home?

I believe that corrects the grammar and spelling in that post!

Isn't that why we are changing them?

BTW, don't any of us feel guilty about the pollution of rare earth usage & greenhouse emissions the Chinese incur when manufacturing our new fluoro lamps.

What is the correct form of disposal of these "low emission" lamps.... ;)

Saw something on the new inventors on the ABC a few weeks back that dealt with these. It basically shredded them up (base and all) and collected all the nasty stuff (mercury??) in a filter and seperated it from the glass and plastic. It'd be nice to see them available around the country one day........
