matt how did you go on the Cape towing a trailer and how many people in the vehicle. I'm thinking of getting one to replace my GU which currently does duties of carrying myself, my wife, our 12 month old son and enough camping gear to fill the back and a roof rack (mattress, chairs, table). Biggest concern is carrying capacity for the Jeep but if a trailer is an option might be worth considering

My old 1960 CJ6 australian willys.......owned it 25 years.
Been there done it ,sometimes twice.
Hurricane F head,PTO winch, overdrive and many small mods.
Still many years left in ( Kuff ) which is the name it got after the first few letters of the number plate.
No comfort,no brakes,no windows.........great in the bush.

Kowmung river.........this thing for some reason likes to swim......even with the the bonnet under water and the current carrying it away on crossing the shoalhaven many years ago it still kept going.
If it runs out of spring flex.......the flex in the chassis will do the rest.

We had a blast on the Cape. It was just my wife and myself with all the gear you could think of. The Trailer was awesome, just make sure it is a solid well build trailer or you might not be bringing it back. The JK did it no probs at all, If you want my (bias :D ) opinion don't hesitate get the Jeep. Just be aware if you buy one they are addictive...
Soon your garage will be full of them:waycool: :waycool: :waycool:

I will have a look, We had both seats down so we could have the fridge in reach for the cold drinks. We also had a large case with the wife's $16,000 worth of camera and lenses:crazy: , our ARB recovery bag, sachs water bra and other assorted crap. It was not the packed as we had so much room in the trailer. We proberly got it in the rear section with the seats up if we packed it tightly..

Hi all,
I personally dont own a jeep but im on holiday in the Philippines at the moment and there are thousands of "Jeepney's" here. The are the old willys Jeep from world war II that have been modified into a jeep/troopy and they are amazing to look at!! Unfortunaty i cant add any of my own photos to show you as they are still on my camera but i've provided a link for you to have a look at. They also have a shorter version that has the interior modified and the extrerior is all highly polished steel (They are for shows only as they are to shiny to be driven on the roads) they coast around AUD5000 from a car yard.

hey Chris,
your truck looks better every time. glad to see you join the 35 brigade. lt would have to be the most modified truck here and def the most outstanding example on the north coast. Really good read in the mag about your truck, love the last pic of your boy in the family pic !!!!, classic. I think you made the right choice on the other feature.
Now when will you tackle impossibles ???? ( it should be renamed jeepossible, after viewing that vid clip-- awsome).
cheers,

They are limb risers made by Tough Stuff here in the states.
Limb Risers (http://www.toughstuffproducts.com/jeep/limb_risers.html)
They were a Christmas present two years ago. Although not needed for the trails in Colorado our Utah, they have been fantastic conversation pieces. Plus they are a great place to dry off clothes after a super hot hikes in the desert.

Thanks for the link, may be just what I need to combat the rainforrest vines here. We have a plant nicknamed 'wait a while' which hooks into you or in my case, rips apart the windshield rubber.

"Okay wrote the para below and then found out I could not attach except from a host site, what the?"
First post guys - Here is my old FSJ Limited. Photos are a tad old, and I shall get some new one's up eventually as she is in the process of being tidied up for a some off road work. Not the easiest of trucks to play with as you have to go stateside for most of the bits and pieces. But "the Canyonero" is under my skin and it has way too much character to replace it.
Cheers Rok.

The best thing a bog stock JK Sport has going for it is the traction control. Had you let it do it's thing I'm quite sure it would have walked up that log.....

Not at the angle I took that log. I saw a Patrol on 35's couldn't get past it without getting stuck on the diff so naturally i gave it a shot.
