my truck hj47 84 model 2h deisel.the filter light on dash is flickering.it gos brighter when idle and fades when reving(2000rpm)and it is also flickering fast when i rev it.my truck only has the fuel sensor.ive just chagned oil.drained the water catcher.as i do regularly.was clean.yet to do fuel filter.if i disconect the conection to the fuel water sensor it still flickers.im gona pull it apart clean to see what happens....any one got any ideas whats goin on.

might sound stupid, but its not the air filter light is it?

Try the air filter mate. Maybe have reduced air flow through air box, or the sensor is damaged or faulty.

hasnt got a air filter sensor only fuel.alternater is good as the regular.but what im stupmed on is if i disconnect the wireing to the fuel sensor it still does it.lol not doin it today so maybe it was water shorting it out as i decreased it yesterday....thanks all for info.

sounded like the alternator or regulator as it changed at different rpm's

we had the same thing happening on our 60 and it came on solid when the vaccuum on the back of the alternator gave up. It turned out the oil feed to the vaccuum pump was blocked so once that was fixed, the air filter light went out and it was back to assisted brakes etc.
