Hi, would like to fit Duel Batt. system to my rodeo. It is a 2002 3Lt int. turbo deisel duel cab. I have had a look and can't seem to find a spot for another batt. I would like to know if some one else has fitted one with this set up.

Thanks Bill

There is a kit for the passenger side engine bay. It takes a small battery. Bloody useless size.

However the battery tray is a beauty for mounting ARB compressors on though. New I'd come in handy for something else.:thumb:

I went and bought an under tray toolbox, a TJM black poly one, but any will do. Mounted it passenger side front of tray. You'll get a thumping great thing in there, no worries! Downside is those boxes are a bit dear, no matter who makes them.

Thanks for the info. I thought I was dreaming trying to fit a batt. under the bonnet. I will have to go for the in tub option. That Rodeo of yours Bazza looks as trick as. All the work you have looks very impressive. Well done mate.
Thanks Bill

have a look at mine.

I have fitted a Piranha DBE180S kits and swapped the location of the starter battery over to the piranha 8 inch tray ( $135 I think ) using an isolated post and an extension cable..
Have a very small but still 660cca optima there ( wasnt cheap though at $380).
This then leaves the original batterty position for a big deep cycle.
system works very well.

Cheers,

Dale

Thanks Mate,

cool idea moving the start battery, I don't have a gap there but i don't know what the diesels look like under the hood.

there's a few things in that position in the diesel as well.
fuel filter etc.
all moved ok.
one thing i ended up with was that all of my accessories now live off the aux battery without me doing any rerouting of cables.

the little optima seems to be doing a good job of starting the diesel as well. i was surprised at how much punch it has for such a small battery.
