Does the 1hz have bucket and shimes for the valves?? (tappets)
Yep they use shims.
Just did a mates on the weekend.
A PITA cause you need to firstly measure the gap, then measure the existing shim, then work out which of the old ones you can reuse and then find a Toyo dealer that has all the shims you need to set the clearances.

nope, better off leaving them untill they really need doing, the mechanic i use mainly services cruisers and he wont do them untill you can hear there is a problem.

Hmmm... That's a pretty irresponsible method, especially since removing the rocker cover is such an easy job.

Its not a difficult job, it just takes time, and your left with a vehicle on the workshop floor that cant be run till its going again.
I can appreciate not wanting to do them, but I would still do them if there out of spec.
