Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about these IPF inserts?
Ive changed the lights in the 80 series twice in 3 years, and im done with these shit box lights. Theyve gotta be the worst lights they've put on a landy yet.
So if anyone could shine some light on any options would be greatful.
Thanx in advance

Yep i got the IPF inserts on my 75. Brilliant i reckon, they seem to spread the beam alot wider then the standard lamps. (75s a very bad too for original lamps). The only problem i had was i kept on blowing bulbs, about once every 2 weeks. After the 2nd set blew i noticed they were putting 90/130w bulbs in, way to hot and they were melting the filament and/or the quartz glass. So i dropped back to some Narva Blue lamps, alot lower wattage and about the same performance.

IPF's great lights good spread, great light. Just upgrade your wiring to them at the same time. I have no regrets fitting these to my 70 series. I run the 80w 110w globes i think.

I put them in my 75 Troopie and they are great, they give a better beam spread on both low and high beam and with the 100/145W globes you can ditch any spotties!

They were really easy to install, the hardest part was doing the headlight alignment.

Yeh i ran the 80/110 for a little while (borred a spare set of a mate when they blew when we were out one weekend) and they lasted the few weeks until i got the blue lamps, but i still went with the blue lamps just to be on the safe side. And yes i got the upgraded loom too.

I had Hella inserts in mine. Take a H4 globe instead of the sealed beam originals. Can pick them up at any good truck shop, might be a cheaper option than the IPF's. They seemed to work. I went overboard with the bulbs and cooked the fuse box. Had to rewire the whole light circuit. Idiot.

Ok so whats the go are the inserts just the bulb?
I blew the passenger side light on the weekend, Hosing the mud off.
But I also had the lights on {never happend before} Ive got a pair of IPF spotties on but I dont think on coming traffic would apreciate me burning their eye balls with them

The IPF upgrade replaces the lens and reflector, and the bulb is replaceable. No need to remove the whole assembly when a bulb goes, just the bulb.
Its best to also get the wiring loom upgrade kit, to handle the extra load.

I have done the full wiring loom, IPF light inserts and IPF 110/80w bulb upgrade on my 80. The low beam upgrade is probably the best $$ light upgrade you can spend. The high beam is also excellent although a set of Lightforce as well seems to make them less worthwhile.
Still great for night travel in the bush.
