Hi All,

I would like confirmation on the wheel nut size/dimensions that i need to purchase in order to put GXL steel wheels on my 2001 toyota prado TX. At present i have the stock toyota three spoke alloy wheels on it and the nuts for these wheels are different in size.

I have been told that i require the following nut size:
12 x 1.5 mm thread
21mm head

If a tyre/wheel guru could let me know what the correct size is it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Visit your local Bob Jane, Tyre Mart, or PM BLU, Ravo, Ryano's or similar, they'll have exactly the info you need and Bob Janes etc will have the nuts on hand for significantly less than you'd ever get them from Toyota AND they'll probly let you try them first to make sure you've got the right nuts! They may well even have a pretty good set of second hand nuts even cheaper! No worries about sizing, they'll have all that and more!

Thanks for your reply Peter, the quoted sizes that i said in my post were from a tyre professional having a quick look and making an educated guess.

No he didnt but i will enquire at another local tyre place and i will see if they have any in stock and if they do i will see if that fits the wheel.

It seems that the length of the current nuts used with the alloy wheels are longer then those used with the GXL wheels but does the length alone make a difference?
