Hey guys got a quick question...

My father inlaw's late model jackaroo has been complaining about cold starts of late. He finds that if he tries to start is first thing in the morning, especially on a colder morning it can take a while. (Like two or three atempts)
I'll find out what year model it is but I'm pretty sure it's around 2001?

Has anybody had this experience? ANy ideas as to the cause? it's got around 150000kms.

most jackaroos around this model have been fitted with dual batteries by holden due to the starting issue i have never seen it fixed but have had improvement by using a 0 or 5 w-40w oil and change both oil filters during servicing my understanding is that oil pressure drives the fuel pump.

I have heard about this happening and it had something to do with a spring in not working correctly but i am not sure where this spring is located. I will try and find out more.

if its a diesel it is probably the oil, being too thick to build up pressure in the catterpillar fuel injection system.
this system runs on oil pressure.

the right oil viscosity is very important in the diesel engine.
