Do they have one side white lettering and the other black or something, normally with directional tyres theyre all black and you just mount them the opposite way on the rim to get left and right

It's the way there made as they're remoulds.
They can only mould one wall as the white writing on the side walls are silicone based and they cant mould the new rubber to it as it don't stick to well.
At least thats what I've been told anyway.
I can't afford any tyres at the moment as I've just spent the funds keeping it on the road eg: rear brakes, front bearings, Idler arm, ARB compressor, Front and rear diffs.

I suspect the bloke you were talking to is making stuff up, on the motorway website it says they are retreaded bead to bead
http://www.motorway-tyres.com.au/p375.htm

Before they retread a tyre they rip all the old tread off leaving an even but slightly rough surface to bond the new rubber to

thats bullsh8T HUMPY IVE GOT A SET OF MOTORWAY REMOULDS AND THEY ONLY RETREAD FROM ONE BEAD OVER THE TREAD AND ABOUT 1 THIRD OF THE WAY DOWN THE INNER SIDE, ON THE INSIDE OF MINE I CAN STILL SEE THE GOODYEAR WRITING, sorry about the capitals i must of bumped the caps locked

OK so I might be wrong, you can stop yelling at me now :'( ;D

Moral to the story, never trust what people write on their websites

yeah they claim to be bead to bead, ive seen a few sets of them on various trucks, and none of them are bead to bead, its false advertising i reckon

I thought you were running Centipedes?

Are the motorways another set of tyres you have

HLM is right... They go from bead to 1/3 around the inner side of the tyre... But advertised as being from bead to bead ( wrt Monoform tyres )

i have 32" mongrels and they are bead to bead. No they cant mould over the white writing but if you look at their site they no longer will buy casings with white on them.

i cant whack them on either side but the tyres are directional.

that would explain why they are hard to come by at the moment as most bigger tyre sizes have the white writing

I know this thread was started some time ago,but im just thinking of getting a set of these 33x12.5x15 mongrels,
for a spare set of rims, and just get em out for trips out on the good stuff.Ill stick with my BFG a/t's for day to day stuff.
So whats the general thought on these mongrels?
Cheers

i had 32 x 10.5's and they were great

I have since moved on to 34" JT2's but if i could get 34 or 35" mongrels i would have bought them.

Best bang for buck in tyres.

Why not look at the Silverstone Sport...it is around the same price as a 33 mongrel but is a brand new tyre!
