There is a few 4 runners getting arround with the Lexus V8s in, and they recon there a good motor, not that there biased!
I recon the main issue would be getting a conversion plate manufactured for it.
I thought about, one of the Nissan Infinity v8 to go in my Rangie, as well. I got offered a complete front end of one including the computers ect, again the issue was the conversion plate. f you decide to go down that route just contact one of the guys whos done the $ runner conversion, so they can direct you where to get the modified wiring loom made up, unless of course your electricaly savvy!

John Davis in sydney was doing this conversion to rovers (Formerly John Davis Motor works, John and Bruce went there own ways.) back in 2003. I dont know if he still does as I have not been in contact.

I love the Lexus and think its a great motor, but why not just use a worked Rangie V8????

If you do decide to do it check out Lexus-Toyota V8 Performance Forum (http://www.lextreme.com) theres a couple there that have been done I believe.

Yes , I have to ask why would want to put the Lexus Engine in? As Boof says why dont you work the Rangie Motor? Alot can be done to it. The main reason I didnt go with any conversion, was basically because it was a huge pain in the Ass, to get the mod plates, modifiying this that and the other, then having to get it engineered. The 3.9 motor is good motor to work, the 4.0 is better as it cross bolted. The 4.6 can be worked well too, as long a you re do the liners with T tops for that extra insurance. The 4.6 can quite comfortably be re worked to 5.2 with about 450 BPH .
