Hi, I am building up 89 RR using same gear as Glenno. I am having problems getting this thing engineered. Main problem seems to be altering the track width. I am using Eastern Ck 15\8 80mm backspace rims with 33x12.5 or 35x12.5 Tyres.
Has anyone got any ideas?

You will not have much hope of getting them engineered.

I have got the go ahead for 285/75/16's after a lot of talking though the issue on +7rims (on 16x8's) for my Discovery. This is after proving that disco's & defenders run similar hubs and bearings, so the +25mm diameter increase based on a 7.50r16 as run on Defenders. That gets you to the 33inch diameter, so it is fine.

Max track increase is 50mm total, and most rovers have a +33 offset (130's run more, you may be able to convince on that fact, but 80mm backspace is pretty big and most likely out of the question)

The 12.5 tyres are too wide anyway for either the current or new rules based on any LR variant.

Read up on the new National Code of Practice document, which is what most engineers seem to be using anyway.

Body lift shouldn't prove any problems as it's an engineered kit. LRA should be able to help there.

Dave.

Thanks, I spoke to the engineer and if I can come up with same part no's on frount end + a picture of a compliance plate we may have a case. Does anyone have a 130 parts book?

The back space of the 16x8 is 80mm total. I think that is -30.
