where can i get a magical set of super wipers as well ?? ? street legal wipers.. you can get illegal wiper assemblys? haha.
in all seriousness there are no wipers on the market which will avoid degrading over time. but best bet is to use a set of high quality silicon blades, and use good glass cleaner. on the ss i use meguiars next gen glass cleaner and black silicon blades and not one bit of noise, zook has same blades but 99% of the time i dont use them when offroad it justs ends up smearing rubbish everywhere.
just dont run the wipers over mud and shit otherwise you just end up scratching the glass, common sense :)

Thats the Whole Issue, when I do go through the splash ends up on the windscreen and.. you cant see... and my current ones just don't seem to cope..
(Actually, the police in my area pull you over for the chrome colored ricer wiper blades,Hence Illegal)

thats ridiculous. how can the colour of a part change how road-worthy it is?

I don't believe it is illegal to have coloured wiper blades. It may however be illegal to have chrome wiper arms, like it is illegal to have chrome gauge housings on your bonnet. All that chrome could distract a driver and call them to crash. The chrome on an older car's front bar? Nah, that doesn't distract like gauge clusters do... ok, sorry, back on topic...
The best wiper blades I ahve found are Bosch. I buy em from supercheap. They are a little exy but I find they are great. I run them on my Falcon, so I haven't experienced the durabilty wiping mud off the screen so I can't comment there.

So what do you have on your 4B???
Yes they say the Chrome wiper things reflect back sunlight above bumper bar height at Eye level and could cause blindness

On my fourby? I don't know, whatever came on it. And they are crap. The don't even remove water, as for mud. the just smear it in an evenly spread layer over the screen. I intend to buy some Bosch ones and see how they like it.

I will look into the Bosch ones...
There should be a windscreen wiper shoot out, to find the ones best suited to offroading...

Nothing worse then Buying a brand new set, then river crossing and finding out the wipers you bought are useless.

why you would have the chrome coloured ricer blades on baffles me anyway, they are stupid.

omg... your not serious? are you doing a river crossing at excessive speed or something? most people wouldnt have half the river on their windsheild when crossing to need such an awesome set of wiper blades.
i really dont understand this thread now. just get some wiper blades that arent $2 and sh*t.

2nd Gear and Low Range still causes splash on the windscreen.. so a good set of wipers are essential..
Try driving behind a convoy and the road is still dusty and mother nature decides to let of a little sun shower, your windscreen gets covered in a combo of rain and dust... which turns into silty mud.. before to long, the conventional wipers have turned that nasty combo into a smeared mess..
I want to know if multiblade wipers are going to be any more effective then a well made single blade..

I'd say a good glass cleaning solution in a working washer bottle/pump would be more important than the brand of wiper blade for removing mud.

Yes the red ones go hard really quickly.. they were good but too noisy..
I have super cheap auto ones on it now and they are doing a good job...
I like replacing the WHOLE wiper arm rather then just the blade.
Haven't given them an offroad test but they do despense with the rain rather good and with little noise..

Use some rain-ex on a regular basis and use the silicone wiper blades. This is all I do on my GQ and have found it to be about the most effective solution.

Same here, and they're working a wonder for rain. But as GRPABT1 pointed out, your sprayer is often more important when you're talking about dust and mud on the screen as opposed to just wetness. I don't even bother trying to get rid of dust from, say, following behind 3 Landcruisers in ma zook, because I know my water sprayer would cause more damage than good
