I've had my 22R 4runner on gas for the last 3 months or so, and am soooo glad to have it! As for power, its almost identical to petrol, except on hot days it tends to be lacking a bit, but thats probably just a tuning issue, I'll have to get it back to the joint that did the conversion. Torque is a little down, but only if you really feel for it, otherwise you wouldn't notice. As for economy, its pretty much on par with petrol. Mine's getting around 300kms from 60-65ltrs all around town driving, and on long stretches can get 450-500kms from the same amount. Basically the only complaint is starting it on gas, its a bitch and cranks for ages before it starts. The gas joint fitted a manual purge valve which is activated by a switch on the dash, but even purging for about 15seconds still takes around 10seconds of cranking to start. I just have to remember to flick to petrol before parking for over an hour or two, and it starts with 3 cranks everytime on petrol.
Definately worth getting done though, the 22R's economy sucks!!

yeh im lookin at getting it donme next week, and atm im getting 16ltr to the 100 on petrol, which is 40 bucks to go to and from the coast, so on gas i could be looking at aroudn about 10 bucks for 100 k's?

I'd say 10 bucks for 100k's is about spot on... depending on gas prices, but even then they don't vary too much.

i got quoted 2800 (800 after the rebate) but im gonna get it put under the side oposite the fuel tank so that they dont have to remove my spare wheel, its 60 litres of usable gas, so hopefully ill get a range of 500-600+ out of the car with gas/fuel.. to put it under the side they just have to modify the exhaust (its 200 dollars more to put it under the side) so hopefully ill notice a massive difference in the economy, i only got it last friday and so far i love it (the car, that is) and with it being possibly cheaper to run, i could love it even more haha... so 10 dollars to the hundred isnt a long shot??? if so then ive gotta be happy with that hey.. is it tru that it can worsen the chances of blowing the head? burning out the valves ect??
