My rear brakes don't seem to be working. I pulled the wheels off and everything seems ok (no broken springs, shoes ok, drums ok) I took the rear of ther truck of the ground and put it in gear and found I have a wobble in both tyres. Does this means I have bent rear axles on both sides and this is causing my rear brakes not to work. I can't feel the wobble when I drive, I think mainly because I run 33's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Next step would be to pull the wheels off and have a tyre shop check them for run out.
Also see of the brakes work without the wheels on,although I cant see any reason why they would not work with buckled rims or axles within reason.
You ,may just have buckled the rims

Its been a while , but has the lux got a load proportoning valve in the rear brake system, if so it may be knackered, or out of adjustment, it adjusts the amount of rear brake effort dependent on the load on the vehicle (more load = more rear brakes) less load less brake effort to rear, a lift will muck up the setting af the valve also.

thanks for the input lads, i thought it might have been the wheels but I had the wheels of it and the drums were wobbling. Thanks scratcha, yes it does have a lpv so i'll look into it. The truck is 6 inches higher than standard, so it might need to be lengthened.

I had the same with my Mazda car, was told by 2 workshops that my axle was bent, could see everything wobbling when spinning on stands, axle looked bent, replaced axle, still same, replaced wheel bearing, problem solved. Different type of running gear, car has independent rear suspension with rear wheel drive, but thought it is worth mentioning.

even if the axles are bent that would not affect the brakes.
