This surf has also been featured in 4wd monthly bout a year ago, it was tittled "Flex baby flex" i think.

Had 33" Wranglers though back then.

OZ's best surf without a doubt!:thumb:

mate, excellent job, flames add a nice touch. buy the missus a step ladder coz you have to keep the wheels.

thanks Sim, Unfortunatly the 38's don't get to see alot of use as I mostly just use these for charity events and the occasional 4wd show.

I have thought about using them as my permanent off road tyre however don't think the drive train would be up to the challenge... would probably have to do some extensive guard work aswell to make them clear on articulation..

If you go to the link below you'll see some good off road pics with my other tyres though.:thumb:

Recently got the front locker put in. Next plans are to find a way to fit reduction gears..?? Unfortunatly Surf boxes are chain driven and will probably need a complete new box and transfer case out of a Hilux:crazy:

Thanks crack, yeah the recaro's came standard in the SSRG model surfs, along with in dash GPS, TV, CD and MP3. Not bad for a 94 release date..:thumb:

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n134/Vandy_10/MonsterTruckin1.jpg

but its still a tight squeez up front

i looked around your shed for specs, u gotta have more than 4 inches lift it looks huge i have 6 inches on my lux man.

Toy Smurf
23-10-2007, 08:29 PM
Yeah I should probably update specs... not really sure how much lift it is all up as we just lifted it enough to fit the front diff while still trying to keep it as low as possible. Could be more like 5-6 inches..?? not sure although I also have a 2inch body lift...

yeah dude with the 38s on it looks insane, makes me wnna chuck 38s on mine now lol but i would def need the lexus in her to turn em. one of the best surfs man, there is a guy local to me who has the same deal but has sas coil front sits bout as high as mine so im guessing 5-6 inches lift with a v8 an 35s. But the 38s just take it to a hole new dimansion a frikken coolness

Toy Smurf
26-10-2007, 09:27 PM
Thanks Malua, Yeah I'm gonna miss the 38s look great and turns truck loads of heads, Unfortunatly Have put them back up on ebay.. and thinking of going for a set of 36" simex or swamper.. A bit more concervative and wont have to keep changing tyres every time I want to head off road. :(
