Talk to Suzuki. There's a kit for almost every car out there.

If you get no joy there, then your local auto lecky should be able to get you sorted out.

what exactly are you trying to do? Does the car currently have air con and it doesn't work? Or are you wanting to retro fit AC to a vehicle that didn't come with it?

Fitting air con systems to a vehicle without it can be a very expensive exercise as it will need to be done by professionals who will have to fit all the hoses, controls, electrics, pump, condensor, gas etc etc. Lot of money. Either you should have bought a Vitara with AC or roll your windows down and take the top of the Vitara to stay cool

I'm a fridgy Grimbo. All cars are set-up to accept an aircon, and you can do the whole job yourself and just get someone to leak test, vac and gas it for you.

I've fitted em to mid 90 Navara's, a Mirage and a few commodores (80's models), it's a pretty straightforward job.

It's only bad kits or older cars that weren't set-up for aircon that can be a hassle.

I've picked up complete used units from guys who've bought a Vit front cut to put the 1.6 in to a Sierra. Even after getting an auto elec to install it has worked out under or close to $500 total. Ask around a Suzi Club, try the wreckers or keep an eye out on ebay as they pop up from time to time. There are a couple of variations with the condensor mounts but they can be made to work fine either way.

I had a new system (apart from Compressor) installed in my Vitara for $380...
Thats new hoses, re-gas and a compressor service..

We got the rag top because "It would be cool" to drive around with the top off. But we are in Newman WA at the moment (not summer yet) It's very dusty and only 39c-40c. With better to come. Had no air con in it.. Has got set up 4 one... We are travelling around OZ in our 36 foot motor home, Rag top on trailer... Just scored a job in Carnarvon so moving there soon..COOLER So far :) $$ not a major prob. Cheers Egor

well there you go then. I had made enquiries for the addition of a/c to non a/c equipped cars and it was going to be all to expensive and hard to get done legally

and hard to get done legally

What is the legal issue? Even if you get an old gas style system it is not a problem to run it on a legal alternative.

Egor99 just keep looking. I've never paid more than $200 for a complete used sytem from a front cut Vit and that includes absolutely everything although I have seen them go for a bit more.

legal, as in getting a qualified air con tech to gas it etc. You can't just do it all at home in the shed.

But all you had to do was drive it to someone to get it filled if you had had a car that could have been driven.:p
