Hi Guys,
Just wondering how a set of BFG AT'S would go on the prado with 265 tyres.

Pretty good, I had a set a 275/70r16 BFG At's before I bought some BFG MT's, and I never had a problem.

But they don't compare to the MT's. Why not take a look at some cooper ST, they look like the might be a good compromise between AT's and MTs

I have the BFG's A/T and they have now done about 60,000ks since I bought them. Whilst they have been long wearing the rears did cop a flogging at Landcruiser Park (tears and chips all over them). They are quiet on the rode as well. My mate has the Cooper ST's on his Hilux and they have worn quickly and have alot more road noise. In saying that though they survived Landcruiser Park without a mark.

Hope this helps.

Ps - I will be buying Mickey Thompson MTZ's next time.

if you go all terrains dont get bridgestone's! they are a really soft compound and wear down only after a few thousand kilometres :(

Just put some 265/70/R17's on mine and they seem to be the goods. Nice and quiet for the missus and handle well. Not sure about serious stuff but. Was looking at the cooper st's also. Depends who you talk to but was also told to stay away from the bridgestones.

Hi Guys,
Just wondering how a set of BFG AT'S would go on the prado with 265 tyres.

i had a 96 mdl with 8' cheviot wheels fitted with 265/70/16 bfg A/T and they used to rub when i turned so i had to give it a 3' lift just keep that in mind to what wheels you have!

How are they wearing and for road noise I am looking at an A/T style tyre for the wifes Prado. I was going ATZ but they have no sidebiters under 33" :(

Would love to but if they scrub at all I will be in a mountain of strife with the vehicles driver :( I also dont think she would agree with the grinder and hammer coming out on her new car

I do a 5 wheel rotation every 5000kms, and have so for put just over 60,000km on them through sand, high country tracks and muddy trails, they have another 20,000km easy..as for road noise theyre not too bad, they make most noise around 40km/h

I was after something between an A/T and a M/T

I would get them again at a drop of a hat

i'm really happy with the coopers mine came with.....good on road...dirt and beach....perhaps lacking abit in mud....but for a all rounder...can't fault!

i've started only rotating my tyres twice a year.....and unless i know the alignments out don't let them near it!

mate works at tyre mob.....reckons the alignment machine constantly a good 30% out calibration...hey....as he says,,,there there too sell tyres not help u keep them for ages

p.s i've bailed on the 5 wheel rotation too......time may prove me wrong...but when u rig feels right...i'm not mucking around with it
