I've got a busted uni joint in the rear drive shaft of my 84 Hilux. It's the uni closest to the transfer case.

A got a few questions.

1 - I'm thinking of taking the shaft to a mechanic to fix instead of me, do I need to take the entire shaft from the transfer case to the diff or does it come apart somehow where that big bearing thing is in the middle??

2 - If I do the work myself, how can I get the old uni out?

3 - How do I put the new uni in?

Thanks.

Its not hard if you know how to swing off a spanner. I changed one in the dirt next to the stuart highway so it can't be too bad in a proper shed/workshop. A vice makes things easyer too.

Thanks for the link 98lux hopefully my uni will be easy to replace like the one on the web site, but I'm not too sure??? I got a nasty feeling it's going to be hard.
