Locking the rear up and releasing the dog gear to stop the drive to the rear end.(rear disconnect)(front dig) Its good fun but can be hard to pull off sometime.

I built in around 2 years (or should i say 5 years) I never stop building it!
the first part of the build took heaps of time as i only had a budget of $95 a week to build it and i had to build it between shifts on shift work.
I worked in close with dobbin as i needed someone with the machinery to produce the custom gear to my specs for this hilux.i only wanted to do the build once and be competitive straight off the shed floor and it was and still is.
The lates part of the build is due to TT 07 or the lack of care on my behalf of the tub while competing.I'v built a traytub or building a traytub that will hold all my gear for the comps that is easy to get to and well layed out well that the plan for the moment!

I wanted to run just the tub it looked the best of all setups but it wasn't practical for the comp work as the departure angle sucked. covering in the sides just behind the cab seamed to be a good idea covering all the hydro gear and nic nacs.also I should be able to rub a tree or rock and not harm the back too much.

I have plans to remount the winch up the back and relocate the radiator out back too and get rid of the winch bar and clear up the approch angle, it would be good to have 90 deg at least.
looks cool like that man :D

I would love to bring my junk to Au for a couple of comps. I think my partner Dave estimated it would be around 2500.00 to ship it. I could be wrong.
I've never competed in a 4x4 comp. I used to race sprint cars.
What kind of coil overs are those?
Have you had a trouble with the cross over steering and the linked front end.

Not cheep to send over. Ihad lined up work as a sparky a few years ago in the states i would love to head over for a year work/play see all those tracks and sights.
the coilovers are a coil over rancho shock running spherical bushes and a fance captive coil mechanism that can relise when you put some air to it. unfortunatly they wont be produced again as rancho have gone to a bigger bore and the model of shock used for the coil over is no longer avalible.
the linked front end has been great so to the crossover steering, alot of R&D went into the design and it payed off.The hydro assist works well and it is all strong to boot. There are a few things I would change if i went again on this rig but thats with every build.

Well spotted i went out to roll the angle with the thin edge inward but that proved to be a pain in the a55 so we went for the thin edge out just so happened to be a gal tube flange in the scrap heap! too easy claimed!
the guard is plastic (noril) produced localy easy to work with.

Nothing gets towed as such just on there to manover my car trailer around the yard. I have plans to do a run to vic this year and i will be towing the small trailer with som 39.5's on board. hope to have the turbo fitted before this trip though.
