Greetings

Can anyone offer advice as to soundproofing a 1992 TD 110 panel van, it belongs to my mate, is a great vehicle but noisy. I have a 97 NISSAN GQ 2.8 diesel which is not too quiet, or so says my wife but the landy is something else. My mate and I are discussing it as a little project to quieten the landy down a bit not so you would go too sleep just to be able to listen to the CD w/out earphones on long trips.

regards Brucey

Tell him not to bother, its impossible..... its a Defender, its designed to be noisy....

If he has to then a set of carpetrs will help a bit and a headlining....

Yep, a "Deaf end-er"!!!

So, there are probably many ways of sound deadening a vehicle, I only know 2...

* Carpet (as mentioned) with some kind of foam under it in noisy places like fire wall, gear box, etc.

* Rubber Tar paint stuff - it is called sound deadener, works a real treat! You paint it on the underside of your vehicles body.

Yep I think trying different foams under the defenders minimal dash is probably the best bet,

An ya!
