Nice looking rig, I bought a 1992 GQ earlier this year and love it, its a 3 ltr petrol and is a little under powered on the highway especially when towing the camper, no trouble off road, just been to Fraser and nothing stopped it. What size lift kit do you have on yours, I am considering lifting mine but not too sure of size, it needs to fit in the garage.

When I bought the ride, it already has 2 inch koni lift.

Thanks mate, I already have Koni's just need the 2" springs, can you recommend anyone. I need the lift as I bent one of the side steps last week on Fraser.
Cheers
Mine comes with pedders springs, but lovell is pretty popular at the moment. PM Zordo or ring him on 3351 2692. He have other brands in stock too.

Thanks Ronnie. I won't be spending anymore on mods. It has a pretty good setup front air lock, 2inch koni LTR, 33s and Nissan LSD. What else can you ask for?
Cheers mate.

mate, nice truck.
love the GQ patrols. how did she go at LCMP? any troubles at all? am looking to buy a 2.8 and am interested in some real world owners opinions
cheers
Thanks mate.
No problems at all. Flex really well and 33s bighorn are awesome off road. However it's rubbing the front mud flaps at full lock. Watch out for rust at rear sliding window and or gutter rails and cracks in door hinges.
G'day Kelvin.
Cheers for the pics! I was wondering when they'd start turning up...
It wasn't so much bad luck as bloody typical!!!
Not so bad though.
- Tyre fixed while you set up camp.
- Took all the muddy tools and gear out of the car when i got home and cleaned 'em up. Will hose out the interior later when i can get to some tank water. Got to love brown vinyl!
- new diff centre $250 plus a few bucks for gaskets and oil and a day to change it.
Or so the plan was until......
I was leaving work early on tuesday to go get a new diff centre, and guess what! My wallet's gone!!! Best i can figure is it's at the bottom of an 8 metre skip with 12 tons of dirt on it.... Oh well. Should be getting some cash to go get a new centre on saturday.
Catch up with you soon!
Cheers,
Dylan.
Fitted new rock sliders.

Thanks. each side weight about 35kg.

Thanks Tom, I liked the prado but the underbelly was too vulnerable. The 2.8 is a little slow off the lights but apart from that I've no complaint.

Andrew, it's got 2inch lift. The sliders were made by a member from another forum. He is also a member of outerL. I'll PM his number to you. The steps only cost me $525. Std ones without the slide plate is 450. Will need two person to fit it.
looks good kelvin
Thanks Mate. I remember when I first bought the rig. I told myself that i wasn't going to go overboard. Do you recall this post?

Do your 33's rub on the flares and rear mudflaps at the back?
I just have got 33's and when flexing the flares are rubbing terribly and broke one flare in the process.
Yes, they do. The only solution for the rear is fitting bodylift. For the front, you can fit spacer for the axle. Just go real slow as full compression, that way it won't tear it off.

They are not rubbing at the front but I'm getting radius arm spacers but at the rear I have cut the flares to bits at the bottom to make the tyre fit. I will make a thread in here soon.
Fitted new shocks and coils today. Added new pics. Flex well for 2 inch lift.

I said the same thing after my lift. It doesn't happen. You will always be trying to improve it. Looks good BTW.
Lookin' good Kelvin. Where did you get it done?
