G'day all,
I'm just wondering of you can easily install the 1.6 Vitara engine into a Jimny and is there a standard kit available (can't find any)?
Also, is there a better engine to install than the 1.6 (I'd love a little turbo diesel :thumb: but the weight issue is no doubt a problem)?
Cheers,

to be honest i am not sure for the jimny i would be looking into modifying the motor otherwise maybe m16a from new swift or something you would be heading into relatively new territory for swaps as far as i am aware most people are happy with jimny motors, i would probly head down the strengening and running a super charger path. biut thats just me.

After seeing many new jimny's popping their clutches in harder stuff and sand my mate fitted a heavy duty clutch. Even so, when out wheeling on rocks and climbs he struggles cause the gearing ain't low enough. The wrangler will idle over anything like a diesel but the jimny needs clutch feathering and revs otherwise it stalls at slow speeds too easily. I can sometimes smell the clutch burning when it's his turn.
My solution would be lower low range gearing or ratios and that would bring it in line with other makes.
