Some of the kits will come witha package deal with radio gear battery and charger etc otherwise depending on the radio gear you get it can be upwards of 4-$500 like i paid earlie this year for my f350 radio gear batt and charger. the expensive bit is the radio cause i had to get a 4 channel set but if you get a car that only requires 2 channels its much cheaper prob get away with 2-$300......

Depends really, What do you want?
A toy, Scaler, 2.2 or Outlaw?
You can spend as much money as you want on these things, don't worry about that.
I built up a TXT based Outlaw over a year or so and I'm scared to add up the total, I know it exceeds $2000 though!!!
And I only got $600 when I sold it.
It also helps a lot if you can fabricate alot of your own parts, like Servo mounts, bash plates etc thats what I did.

Hey Tim..
Trouble with the Kmart ones mate is they tend to have a moulded chassis with most components attached. unlike the pro ones where you can upgrade/imporve most if not all components from the ground up. You will find wheels and tyres will be hard to replace as well..
Now i dont want to dampen your spirits here...
Have you tried looking at ebay or the trading post? alot of cars can be found on here pretty cheap because people buy them not realising the amount of effort involved to run and maintain them.
This might be a good/cheaper place to start looking. Good luck mate, rememebr to keep us up to date if you get one!
