Hi. Got to replace the LH CV boot on my 1992 4Runner I am sure there has been a thread about doing it but can't find it.
Is it reasonably easy?
The RH side cost me $150 to have done, thought I would have a go at this side myself.

I haven't actually replaced a boot but I have removed the driveshaft when I took my diff out to get a locker put in.

There is a writeup on ToyotaSurf Australia Site (http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au) on how to change a boot although the driveshaft was able to be removed just by jacking the lower suspension arm up until it was about level.

When I tried to do it, this didn't work for me and I had to pop the top ball joint out. What you may find as I did is that when you undo the six nuts holding the driveshaft to the diff axle flange there isn't enough room to get the driveshaft out thru the "A" shape in the lower control arm. The diff flange gets in the way. So I popped the top ball joint out and that gave me enough room. In Twisty's write-up on how to remove a diff he just undid the four bolts that hold the bottom ball joint though. This might be a better way.

You will also need to remove the circlip that holds the outer end of the driveshaft into the steering knuckle. Not a big deal unless you have trouble with those cone washers that hold the freewheel hub body on. My trick is to get a sacrificial nut, socket to fit the nut and a driver extension. Plenty of WD40 too. Thread the nut onto the stud, put socket and driver on and tap the end of the driver. The shock should be enough to loosen them and because you have a nut on the stud the cone washer won't go flying off when it breaks free.
