I've just started making sliders for my 99 Rodeo which has no body lift and while some say it cant be done without a bodylift I've designed them so they will clamp/bolt onto the chassis without any interference or major mods to the factory fittings etc. or to the long Range fuel tank.

The only mods are a couple of short relocations of fuel lines and handbrake cables which has to be done for bolt on Rodeo sliders anyway.

I'm just waiting for the chassis brackets to be bent up so I can weld them all together and put them on.
The closest any part of the sliders will sit to the body is 15mm which is the bottom lip of the sill panels.

I'll be doing a body lift anyway because my long range fuel tank sits low and I'll be able to raise it 40mm so the bottom of the tank sits just above the bottom of the chassis rails.

Then I'll make another set to suit the body lift.
These current ones sit slightly lower than the chassis rails and I've allowed enough room to be used as steps too with self adhesive grip tape on.

I'll post some pics up when they're finished and on, probably about a week away.

are they already fitted mate ??...

i don´t like much body lifts, but i think i´ll need one too.....about 1,5-2 inches ...no more than that.

i donŽt like much body lifts, but i think iŽll need one too.....about 1,5-2 inches ...no more than that.If you want tyres any bigger than 31's I'd do a body lift or they'll nick the the top lip of the front fenders and bottom corners of the firewall/footwell under full compression when turning.
I havent put them on yet but they are painted and ready to go.
2 full length pipes, through 3 x RHS chassis brackets and braced.
I bolted one side on before I painted them and lifted the side of the truck up off the ground with my Hi lift connected to it. Pretty strong with 3 chassis connection points.

Sudso,
I'd be interested in some photo's if you have any. I'm looking at side steps so interested in how you fixed them to your chassis.

Thanks Brian

They arent side steps as such Brian, more like sill protection bars but you can still get a foothold on them but with some non slip tape on top.
I didnt think side steps necessary for a Rodeo lol, the only serious lifted Rodeo's I've seen are overseas.
Pic's are in the Holden/Isuzu thread here:

wouldn't it make more sense to have the sliders on the rodeo which isn't ridiculously lifted? ;)

Best you can go with a Rodeo here is a 3" Calmini suspension lift, 40mm bodylift and 33" tyres and still get a pretty good ride and tyre clearance.
Come to think of it thats around 6" total lift over standard.
Watched excerpts from the Australian Safari yesterday, the V8 R9 Rodeo went well considering it had bugger all lift.

I'd be interested to se a photo as well and get an idea of what they cost in materials to make up.
A friend of mine is thinking about side rails / sliders at the moment.

I have TJM scrub bars on my Rodeo and they work well.
From memory about $800 though.

She would like to not have to pay that much .

Cheers,

Dale
