80 series high beam light's help pls.

I have just recently noticed that the inner 2 lights on me 80 arnt comming on when the high beam is switched on. The outer lights hit up to high beam and so do the spotlights.

The inner lights on mine are sealed units and there not blown. I had auto leccy mate rewire all the headlights back in 2001 with better wire to handle the current and allow for a brighter light over the standard wirring.

The relay from what i can see also hits up the outer lights at the same time so its got me miffed as to whats going on???

Got power to the plug on the back of the lights ?

ok i have a similar prob,when i switch the headlights on both the drivers side lights light up and nothing from the passenger side....but if i leave it for a while then they fire up as normal,??its tempramental i think its an earth leakage somewhere?i need to spend some time checking the wiring harness to see if some other silly bugger has had a chop at the loom somewhere???

Might be a silly question but arent they individually fused?

I had same problem with mine, the driving lights and headlights would come on but the inner lights would go off. After hours of testing and scratching of head, i took it to local auto elec and they found a fault in the high low stick on steering console. all fixed for $130 they said its a regular fault with the 80s.

ok fellas fixed my headlight problem,i also traced the wiring loom from the back of the lights to the plug on the drivers side...unplugged it sprayed it with WD-40...then traced the earthing side back over to the passenger side where i found 2 seperate fuses ???on the earth yes i scratched my head??anyway it was a loose terminal on the bottom of the headlight relay...causing the lights to light up and glow a strange orange colour...it was just a bad earth which has now been traced ty....
