I have a 45 series ute. I want power steering and disc brakes so I thought id buy a wrecked 60 series but eventually Id like coils too so I was thinking of buying a wrecked 80 series and just doing a chassis swap.

Is this a straight forward exercise, re-welding body/engine mounts etc or is there alot more to it ? Is it worth it ?

If you going to go to the trouble of a body swap, you might as well make it an 80 series. Should be pretty straight forward.

Heres a link to a buildup of a 45 on a 80 series chassic on IH8Mud....has to be one of the coolest 45s ever. Should give you a pretty good idea of whats involved.
