Have I offended the Landy camp or does no one mod these beasts of things?

Defender 130 dual cabs started to be sold here in 1994 with the tdi 300 motor and I think one can still be purchased new as a special order with the bmw motor which was introducted about 1998.
Previously the 127 dual cab was sold with the four speed and 3.5 V8 and is very rare.
The 130s will not take a bigger motor without changing the gearbox as the box will not handle any extra torque.
The chassis, brakes, suspension, and steering are above average.

A chev would fit and I think a company in WA was fitting the 6.2 chev diesels with the standard gearboxes.
Use the rover V8 and earlier 4 speed running gear as it will be cheap, strong and bolt in and ratios and engines are easily changed.

The 101 landy pictured to the left runs early range rover running gear standard and runs the 3.5 lt motor on lpg............the same block is is used in the 4.6 lt and this can be taken out to 5.2 lts.
The eary running gear is tough

Thanks for that.
Did Defenders have a factory option of 33" tyres? Pretty sure I read that somewhere.
What were the 110's like, did they come out in a petrol version too?

The defender range in Aust only came out with diesel.
The county range came out with Isuzu diesel and V8 petrol.
The stage 1 series three came out with V8 only in Aust.
The standard wheel size is 16 inch
and there is plenty of room in the wheel wells.

6.2 Chev in a 110 130 that way you can use the tray on the back for a 2000 gallon fuel tank ( has it been done )
and is there any threads on it

Re fitting a 350 chev check out the mark's 4wd adapters website, castlemaine rod shop or dellows. One of them should be able to help you.
