I just got a '85 Pajero and it has torsion suspension at the front. What can be done with them, i know the ride hight can be easily adjusted effecting ride comfort etc. is it worth upgrading them? If so what do you recommend?
Cheers

G'day.
I cranked up the torsion bars in my pajero a few weeks ago. There is plenty of info on the net - just type in "cranking torsion bars pajero" or similar. Or just have a look around on this forum or in the mitsy sections on outerlimits.
I had been planning the lift for a few months, and was hesitant about playing with the TB's, but I have absolutely no regrets. I bought some lovells 50mm raised rear springs (175 a pair - with discount, 220 normal) and four new shocks. installed all that and had about an 8cm difference between front and rear height. So I cranked up the TB's about 1.5in (just under 4cm). Had to shave the bumpstops (about 1cm) at the front to maintain the factory clearance between the rubber and upper arm. So there's still a height difference (as their should be), but it isn't very noticable - and the car handles heaps better. It is stiffer in the front end, but I thought the front end was a little floaty anyway.
Overall I had my doubts, and was prepared to put it all back to spec if it was dodgy, but I am :D stoked:D with the result (especially given that it cost under 500 bucks, and took about 3 hrs).
Good luck.

Cheers mate, i just upgraded my rear sring (i think 45mm off top of my head) and it dosent look that bad so i think i will leave it for now, but most prob i will crank the TB's up a bit and if they arnt high enough to my likeing ill change them. but if not i might keep them, i just need to see how they go
