G'day all,

was wondering if anyone could give some advice on whether or not to tweak the torsion bar to raise the front end on my courier ?

I've been told no it's not a good idea and also that it would be fine to do it.

Anyone care to advise ????

Thanks in anticipation

No worries. If you are bringing the car up to level then fine, if you are going to jack it up to the upper bump stops then ride quality will be jeopardized.

They are designed to be wound up or down from the factory.

I'd hazard a guess & say that most of us with T/bar front ends have wound them up a tad. Its best to get it raised all round & like Figjam says it does stiffin' it up a bit & you lose some wheel drop (thats why I only went 40mm).:thumb:

Thanks for your opinions.

The reason for the uncertainty is that I was told it was ok but down the track they could fail as the factory fitted stuff isn't designed to be pushed to the limits.

So not wanting to spend alot of dollars at the moment I considered the torsion bar adjustment but then chickened out.

The joys of being a little green in the 4x4 game I guess.

Cheers

Go to "Ford owners were are you" post in the General Fourby Discussion site & you'll find a lot of Courier owners with all sorts of info for you.:thumb: :truck:

G'day all,

thanks again for the thoughts on my question regarding the torsion bars.:thumb:

I've spoken with several 4x4 dealers and also the local Ford dealership and the end result is my courier is now raised a bit more and looks great.

I'll need to install some heavier duty torsion bars sooner rather than later I've been told but at the moment it's superb.

Cheers
