4WD Action Technical Writer
An opportunity exists for the right person to fill a newly-created roll within Australia's largest and fastest growing 4WD, camping and lifestyle magazine. Based in our Silverwater, NSW offices, Australian 4WD Action is a monthly magazine that covers all aspects of the 4WD market, from new vehicle tests, to custom vehicle features, 4WD competitions, DIY tips and techniques stories, product reviews and technical features.
In keeping with making sure our readers get the most out of our magazine, we are now seeking to employ a full-time Technical Writer.
As our new Tech Writer your hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of 4WDs (even if it is just your own) and your competent ability to drive and assess 4WDs in highly variable conditions will allow you to source interesting and relevant stories. You will need to ensure that all content included in the magazine is accurate and entertaining.
Your duties may include but are not limited to:
New vehicle testing
Technical information gathering
Relaying of technical/mechanical information to readers in an easy to understand format
The right applicant will have:
A keen eye for detail
Detailed knowledge of the workings of 4WDs
The ability to take complex technical information and relay it to our readers
The ability to work within an enthusiastic team environment
An understanding of the rigours of regular deadlines and the need to meet them
The ability to travel when required and be flexible
Good organisational skills to arrange, conduct comparisons and run tests
