A green Kuhn Detour Camper Trailer with hard floor was stolen from the Five Rocks area north of Yeppoon on Friday night, August 17. Ross, the owner is from Roma and had left it half way up a dune when he couldn't get up all the way. He went on to the campsite, unloaded his gear, and came back for his trailer. It was gone.
[This was in The Morning Bulletin, Sat 18 page 25. If you come across this camper, please contact Rockhampton or Yeppoon police.]

For those of you that have had anything stolen, you know how this makes you feel, no need for me to ramble, My bright blue 60 series went missing just 4 weeks ago and hasnt been found. Its not the fact that some lowlife has stolen your gear, if its insured that only takes you back to the beginning of setting whatever back up again, and thats if you get what it was worth. Its obvious that those who perpertrate such acts are loners and hopefully dont read these forums, BUT if you are watching, be warned!! I hope the law gets to you first, because there are a lot of people that would like to show you some hospitality for your Actions!!!
I saw that article in TMB. Makes me think twice about leaving my boat at camp when im not there, its a shame that 5 Rocks has goen thise way. I used to leave keys in my ignition when i was away back in the day, cant anymore, but thats what ya get with progress i suppose.
At least you can be pretty sure it would of been a local who stole it, so maybe it will turn up somewhere, or at least the people who took it. And also, fair chance of witnesses to see it getting driven out. I know that everytime i see a camper trailer i pull off the track for it and think "Buggar towing that up here", so the cars do stand out like dog's balls.

sad to think a fellow 4wdriver would do this, not wanting to hijack the thread, but when we were up at 5 rocks after christmas the weekdays were beautiful, the weekends were when the tossers who give the majority of 4wd owners a bad name turned out in force.

Thanks for the interest, fellas. Sorry I can't give more info as I only got the details from the newspaper. Just thought someone on the forum might come across it somewhere - "bargain camper for sale" or similar!
I used to leave me keys in my 4wd parked on the beach as no one much was around. Then one time I was about a km away with the fishing gear and looking back I thought if someone walked up to my vehicle they could just drive it away. And I wouldn't even be able to see em clearly enough to give a description to the cops. Now I take the keys with me.
