As a mechanic friend of mine always says, "yeah they do that just before they blow up" :D
Nah seriously it would be a minor thing, just get ya mate to take it to a Holden dealer and get them to check it with a Tech11 analyser. The puta keeps errors in memory even if the engine light isn't on when testing.

Ok if you have already done what Sudso has told you then the mechanic would have told you that the fault is with the Air flow sensor. This is not the case. You will need to clean the Throttle possition sensor and this will fix all of your problems. If you wish for me to help any more let me know.

Yep, they called up the air flow sensor. Spot on Maddog. $ 545 to fix + $147 for diagnosing. ooh. The works will be done under warranty as i got 3month when I bought the jackaroo. So I will take the chance that this may be right, i won't be paying.
Cheers gents

Jacks,
I really hope that you didn't pay this much to get it fixed. I promise you in about 6 months the problem will be back. As for the cleaning guide it is really easy. I will write one up this afternoon and if any one wish's to get a copy off me then drop me an email at greatest_00@hotmail.com and i will forward it on to them.
Thanks

Maddog6602,
I did not pay, it was under warranty. But they just put in a second hand one it does the same thing. The 4x4 is going back to them this next week. I have taken off the throttle position sensor and cleaned the outside? I will use your advice on cleaning when it comes through. I dropped you an email.
Thanks again.

A holden dealer put in a 2nd hand Air flow sensor in under Warrenty..... mate id be slapping them for that....
Like Maddog has said, clean out ur throttle pos sensor AND personal preference, if ur throttle body a bit gunked up clean the shit out of that also. sometimes found that little bit makes a difference.. not in all cases but some. so i do it everytime so save pulling it all apart again.

Holden didn't do the Warranty work. with A second hand car warranty the dealer does not have to put new parts in. The parts are to be of equal or better age.
How do you clean the Position Sensor. It is a solid enclosed non serviceable part. I have taken the throttle body off and all its 100 connections. Black inside but now clean. The butterfly may have been sticking. Other mechanics say it is more than likely a vacume leak. Either way it has started for the last 15 or so times.
Thanks for the info.
Any other Jackaroo tips.?
I want to lift the jackaroo. I was thinking of coil spacers and maybe the torsion tighten? Or maybe that and a 2inch lift. Any thoughts.

I was told my airflow meter was cactus and it was around $250 - $350 for another 2nd hand one... So I thought I would have a look at it myself.. After Cleaning all the guts of it, Problem was still there...
I popped the cover of the electric panel and there was a little adjustment screw.. A few turns and I could hear the engine change tone... I adjusted it, took it for a run, adjusted some more untill it ran with no problems at all....
Its been going for a few months now with no drama's whatsoever..
