Couple of quick questions guys, I'm just wondering if any of you know of an aftermarket headunit for the ML that doesn't disrupt the display functions on the trip computer thingy?? I know Clarion and Pioneer have jumped on board and made units in the past to suit OEM fitment, but so far I can't find anything for the Triton...
Also has anyone had the door shrouds off to see what size speakers are hiding out in there, or what size we will be able to fit in there??
Shane.

I have had my car to bits numerous times...!
I have ditched the display infavour of a 7" LCD dvd headunit. have 2 amps.. one for speakers one for sub..
I have 6.5" speakers in the rear (required a small amount of modding to fit
and 6" splits in thje front.. the tweeters fitted easily where the factory ones go..
ALL speakers need plastic spacers. U CANNOT use the factory ones as they are part of the speakers.. all in all it was a quiet easy job to do esp if u use 6" speakers

Cheers Cranky,
Couple of questions, where did you fit a sub in yours?? And did you just make up some MDF rings to use as spacers??
Oh and one last thing, got any tips for removing the door trims, I can't count on two hands how many car stereo installs I've done, but it seems these newer cars keep putting locking lugs where you least expect them, just don't want to snap any off..
Do you think you would be able to post some pics of your setup here?? Pics of Amps and location along with subs, and it would be good to show off that lcd screen you were talking about...

Hey Shane,
the door trims are real easy to get off belive it or not.. just undo the screws.. 3 from memory.. and use sumthing nice and flat.. (metal ruler) to prise it off..
i have an amp under each seat, they have velcro tape on them to stop them from moving (didnt wana drill holes in my floor) the sub is jsuta 10 and fits in the middle of the rear seat. i know its not the best but wat else do u do??
as for pics i may get sum up at sum stage, i dont have a cam at the mo.
oh spacers.. i jsut bought sum plastic ones for the front.. (cost abotu $10..?) rears are mdf spacers.. also cost me around the same.. for the price it wasnt worth the effort of building them
