I never thought to check during the test-drive, but my ML Triton doesn't have a hand-throttle. I realise this is probably becoming more prevalent in the new vehicles with drive-by-wire, but today on a Sunday drive (http://www.4wdmonthly.com.au/forum/f27/my-intro-glx-r-triton-38055/) I REALLY missed having a hand-throttle - there's some pretty rough & rocky sections of this track and in this situation I'd prefer to crawl over the rocks on the hand-throttle, rather than try and hold my foot from jerking the accelerator on the bigger jolts...

I would have thought a simple potentiometer arrangement would have been included, heck even a cable attached to the accelerator like in the olden-days!!! I would even be happy with an idle-up button or something :o

Has anyone else missed the old-school hand-throttle?!

Cheers

If a hand throttle you are after, then if you ask REALLY nicely I am willing to trade for no cash adjustment my MK (new tyres don't forget!!) for your ML.

Seriously it's amazing how many things you miss on the test drive.

:) Haha, & here was me thinking I'm probably the only one that is missing it having one..............!! I want it for when the ute is just sitting there idling up from cold, & also for when the winch is being used in anger.............

Still a great unit though................!!
