Has anyone fitted a snorkel to a Ford Ranger yet? I think their is an Airtec one available but the Safari one won't be here untill September so they tell me at ARB.
Has anyone had any experiance with Airtec? Any good ? or is it best to wait for the Safari? Are there any other brands worth looking into?
Cheers, Dave.

I cant seem to find if it's available for the Ranger yet, but the BT-50 has a factory snorkel available for $484 +fitting. Looks like the Airtec to me but it has "BT-50" embossed on it. I think the standard issue with airtec is the fact the head cannot be turned around when driving in very dusty environments.

Yeah i'v seen the BT50 with the genuine fitted at a dealer. Ford say they have no plans to bring one out:(
Your right though the BT50 one does look like the Airtec one. Some people say you shouldn't turn the heads around as you get the opisite effect to what your trying to achieve, but i cant see how:confused:

Does anyone know about how well the Airtec one seals. I've heard that the Safari one is the only one that seals properly keeping the water and dust out like its supposed too. Any truth in this?

Hi All,
I spoke to Ford yesterday regarding the Snorkel for the Ford Ranger. They recently added a snorkel to their list of genuine accessories for a reasonable $385.
The fitting however is where you would get stung costing close to $400 in labour!!!
I think if I get a snorkel I will attempt to fit it myself with the help of a panel beater to cut the hole and drill the mounts.

I got a factory snorkle on my BT-50 cost $585 includingthe installation.
You are right although the head comes off it is not possibile to turn it around because of the way i is designed. Not a big deal in my book.

yes you should not have the snorkel facing backwards when driving as you will be starving the engine of air

arcticwolf is absolutely correct.....snorkels are made for the air to be rammed in not sucked in.....

Will a BT-50 snorkel fit on a Ranger?
G'day stRanger,
They appear to be one and the same snorkel... they are both 'TJM Airtec' snorkels... however on the TJM website they do have differnt part numbers... see links...
