i am in WA so i got mine done at Gaspower in Northbridge it was $3500 but i got a $3000 rebate ($1000 after you pass it over the pits and $2000 from the rebate)

i have a APA tank not sure on the brand of converter, the button to switch from petrol to gas is tiny and it has an incorporated led guage, one thing when you drive out of the gas place when you get home tigten up all of the hose clamps as mine started to settle in an leak a little coolant - you might have a problem with loosing coolant don't worry it will be an airlock in the cooling system this should fix itself withing a few hundred kms just keep topping it up

Dion,
I have a CRC Sequential Vapour injection system by Impco Technologies on my MK. I get 320Km+ from a 55 ltr tank around town and 350Km+ on the highway. With the injection you will notice no power difference and the change from LPG to Petrol and back is unnoticable due to the sequential change over. The system starts on petrol and changes over to LPG when engine temp up. If you run put of LPG the injection rail pressure sensor will sense the drop in pressure before you notice any power loss and will change over to petrol. The LED fuel gauge will then beep to let you know your out of gas and running on petrol. You can stop the beep by manually swithing the fuel selector to petrol.

My APA LPG tank is mounted under the body on the oposite side to the petrol tank and has 55 LTRs LPG capacity. It is cradle mounted inside the chassis reails. to get this size tank in an exhaust mod is required but well worth it for the range with no impact on ground clearance or rampover and no need to relocate the spare wheel into the tub.

Vic Auto Gas, now Global Autogas Supplies also have a Vapour injection system but i have no personnel experiance with it. Have a look at the links below and contact them to find a licenced installer in your area.

Awesome Guy's thanka for all your help!

Dragn88 your system sounds great (CRC Sequential Vapour injection system by Impco ) I like the idea of that it knows when your out of gas and then switches over to petrol.
Thanks for all your help guy's
I love my Triton and will be keeping it for a long time.
Someone said very under rated, I say yes they are!

If you are fitting the gas tank on the opposite side to the petrol tank. What are you doing with the muffler. I experimented with the exhaust on my MK (moving the muffler to fit a gas tank) and couldn't shut the thing up with a sports system on it. Such a horrible drone. Does anyone have any pics of what they have done with the exhaust?

GLXR2005 what is the gas system that you have fitted?
Have you considered a header set for your MK? Something I was thinking of doing If have to get the exhaust mod done for the gas.
Thanks Dion

Here is a picture of where my rear muffler is. I have the lpg tank opposite the fuel tank and the exhaust runs a small round muffler half way down and the large muffler at the rear. Not pretty to look at and am going to try and sort it out soon. Want to get a nice note out of it so any advice would be good.

Hi all I have a 1998 club cab 3lt V6 with the gas tank in the tray usable 80lt. what is your fuel economy like I get about 350-400km per tank?
I had to replace my Spark plugs and leads shortly after installation as i was suffering from a bad case of back fire. the gas tech i went to advise me that due to the V6 set up with the leads that over time about 80-100 thousand kms they begin to start shorting out and cause the spark to jump between the leads creating the miss fire.

Ok I'm cooking with GAS (LPG)
Had mine fitted with the sequen injected system last week!
Very happy so far, You don't evan notice when she switches to gas.
No power loss.
Costs well the exhaust mod did set me back a bit $580 for 2.5" system with a resignator to stop the burble/crackel
$3,700 LPG system less $2,000 gov rebate
I have some pic's of the exhaust mid mount tank (60ltr ) if anyone one is interested or would like any info

Not great news ! need new heads now as the LPG on the 200,000 k `motor not working to well

seems that on LPG it shows up the valves are warn and as the gas is dry makes it run crapo when she heats up.
Need to check if a valve lube system works first before buying new heads

Not happy :(

If your going to get the rebate I would get in quick because our mate Kevin Rudd is looking a pulling the rebate when he gets back from his little holiday OS.

mine is a 66ltr tank that holds 60 ltrs of useable gas. I have got 420km out of it with about 100 of these ks around town.
Thinking 450km open road.
But have just fitted new leads and plugs so should be eva better econ yet to check the k's until I get new heads fitted.

Hope this helps

Cheers Dion

Hi Guys

I recently bought 98 MK GLS. I am looking at putting it on gas. The one that goes on the opposite side of the existing fuel tank. I think it is 55/60 lt capacity. I was told that there is a plate or lable with a number on the side of the tank which can be matched to a chart. Also I was wondering whether anyone has any photos of how the exhaust system is re positioned, it would be greatly appreciated

Cheers Danny

Hi Danny, Happy to help in anyway I can, Just hope you don't go through what I have just had too.
How many K's has she done? Your 98 mdl. Before you put it on LPG get your local mechanic to check the valves are fine or the LPG guy your going to use. You dont want to have to purchase a new head because they cost $$. I'm booked in Next week to get the new LPG heads put on so I can use my very costly Gas system.
I have a 66ltr tank underneath besides the petrol tank(it holds 60ltrs of GAS), I will take a pic tonight and put up Thursday so you can see it.
I had some issues with the 2.5in exhuast system that I got put on (cost $580)
I lost a little bit of clearance because they had to go around the tail shaft. (I think it would have fitted under but what can you do I was intersate when they done it) Also they put a resignator on to stop the loud burble.
I went for the Squential system costs $3,700/$4,200 plus exchaust mod.(Less rebate but get in quick before they take this away very soon sounds like it)
Much better system then the old one.No back fires or loss of power and better economy.
Hope this helps a bit.
Cheers D

Thanks for responding. It's just about to clock up 85000 km and just recently had the timing belt done.
Im thinking of getting the exhaust mod done first I found a picture and they have ran it over the top of the tail shaft.
My mechanic asked me to find out what other people had fitted on theirs and he will endever to do the same.
Better get it done sooner than later the way fuel prices are going.

Look forward to seeing how you have fitted your gas system.

Hi Danny,
I have put one photo up of the resignator and the 2.5in going into the engine.
please email me if you want more as I took about 8 photo's
dionh24@hotmail.com

They had to move my spare tyre across a bit to keep it away for the exhaust and put a plate beside it.
Get your self booked in before they take away the rebate of $2,000
Go for the squencial vapour injected system its much better economy and no power loss and no back fire.

Cheers D
