Hi Hamish
I had this problem with the front left wheel mainly on hard left turns which turn out to be a blown centre diff.
But maybe check the cv joint assuming its one of the front wheels of course.

hope this helps

yes is front left hand wheel will pull it apart again and check the cv and the front diff at the same time
thanks hamish

i know this is a silly question but are the brake caliper bolts still there i have had cases where one of the bolts have fallen out causing the caliper to twist and jam the wheel intermittantly

My mate had the exact problem, He was going through a ditch, the rear wheels were spining. Then He shifted the lever down all the way to 4wd Lo. After getting out of the ditch, he shifted back to 2wd mode. Then He just drove off. he didnt reverse 1 meter back or anything. Then we heard a grinding noise from the front left wheel. It was pretty damn loud, He went a bit faster and the noise was gone.

This might help, but i don't no. I felt sorry for the troll, because it didnt have the owner that knows anything about a 4wd and whats it used for...

have checked the brakes they are fine all bolted up ,and the disco's are full tmie 4wd's the transfer is only a centre diff lock ,and yes i always reverse back after use off 4wd just incase anyway but thanks guys,
any hints r alway helpful, turns out to be a flat spot on one off the roller bearings in the cv knuckle.
cheers

Full time 4wd is still driven through the transfer, my understanding the transfer act's as a diff and send's a % of torque to each end, when you lock it in it sends 50/50 front to back. (correct me if I'm wrong PLEASE!)

And I also beleive the 93 model's have a viscous centre? IF this is the case then once the oil in the centre reach's operating temps (your magic 10 minute mark) then it will "lock" the front output in the case, which only lock's the front left wheel as it's an open front diff.

Is it still happening? I really cant see a flatspot in one bb out of half a dozen jamming up a wheel completely after a few minute's of driving, if anything I'd see that as damage caused from the wheel locking?

Cheer's
