Hi all,
:drink: I need your help to resolve a "discussion" between myself and a good friend, we both have quite differing answers so any input appreciated or may just add fuel... 1st what is the redine of the the 3.9lt V8, as the tacho doesn't have one we have no definitive answer, 2nd, how do the steering lock adjustors work - should they actually hit something?

Again any help appreciated bragging rights are at stake.
Also we are new to the Maitland area any news on 4wd trips / outings much appreciated

There is no redline except whatever revs the engine stops spinning at due to valve bounce and induction limitations. Could be interesting going downhill, but not heard of one exploding yet due to over-revving.

Steering stops are on the back of the swivel hubs and stop the wheel turning too far by hittin on a pad on the diff. If the wheel turn too far it just means the tyres will rub on the outside edge of the front suspension radius arms. They are just bolts that screw in or out to adjust the stop limit.

what he said, its common for the v8 to run thru 7000 rpm. if you have an auto try it, just plant your foot and keep it down until it changes into top gear, just watch the rpm, you won't hurt it.

First of all the tacho only reads to 6000rpm.
In 'D' they will shift up at 5000rpm, however I had her cutting out at about 5250-5300 at 175kmh in 4th the other day.
