and me :( is there squab tilt adjustment incorporated in those entry level seats do you know, Josh?

I put some very thick sheepskin seatcovers on my fronts, and it's certainly made it a lot more bearable, although I haven't driven longer than about 160km in a session yet...

Cheers

Not sure, but it probably can be set when you fit them.
I have the seatcovers too and they help a little. I just go till I start to hurt, then slip the $10 supercheap lumbar pad thing behind my back from that point forward.
A shitty solution, but it will have to do for now.

Hi Guys

I have one of these seats and love it. It was in my 45 Cruiser, now in my 75 Cruiser and made all the difference.
Especially on 3-4 hour dives. :waycool:
Now how do i justify new ones for the tritons?
Cheers

There's really only 2 things you need to know for wether an aftermarket seat is good. Firstly it must be ADR Compliant for obvious reasons, secondly it must feel good for yourself personally to sit in.

Try sitting in a GLS seat, just because someone else doesn't like it, doesn't mean it's not going to be good for you, 1 shoe doesn't fit all, just as 1 seat doesn't fit all, they just try to make them, which they can't.

But why is the seat uncomfortable at the moment? Maybe a trip to a Motor Trimmer may be adequate. Maybe having the foam modified is all you need, maybe a lumbar support air bladder added if you need one, mounted in a location that suits your back.

I've known people to tear out Recaro seats because they were to uncomfortable for them and Recaro is known as one of the best. My dad is an ex trimmer and i have sat in plenty of seats, some of the best were the standard ones with modified padding.

I'm almost 100% certain the seats are the same wether you go GLXR or GLS, except one has cloth trim and the other has leather, no diff as far as lumbar and extra support is concerned. I'm not one to whinge about support in seats at all, the triton front seats are more uncomfortable than the seats in my STi and they are as hard as a rock...

Harder is way better over the long run. That's half the problem, they're too soft.
The seats in my Golf V TDI are like sitting on a piece of wood when you first get in. 10 mins later they're comfy. 10 hrs later, there STILL comfy...

Hmm ok, some of the comfiest seats I've ever sat in are early model ford falcon seats, they were far from hard, and you could sit in them all day long...

I think the prob with the triton seats is they are too hard and flat, passenger seat in a unimog style......

yep I reckon it's the flatness of the seat base/squab that makes them uncomfortable for long trips - does the GLS electric seat allow for tilt adjustment on the squab, mantis?

(FWIW I have WRX (hard!) seats in my Forester and have no complaints on any length of trip - now the coilover suspension on the other hand :o)

After doing nearly 4000 km in them on hols they are defiantly on the list of things to change along with the shocks.
Had to go to the physio when I got home to get my back put in.
