Fuel Gauge

The Fuel Gauge on my newly aquired 93 Vitara is a bit innaccurate..
It Displays 3/4 Full when Full and I am not sure if it actually moves..

Is there a way to rectify this problem??

Also the Tacho sorta Bounces about after around 4500rpm.. Could it be loose???

I'm not an auto sparky but is sounds like you could have a bad earth or other connection somewhere. Are the other instrument electricals working ok or is it just the two? Do you have a workshop type manual with electrical drawings? If so do you dash instruments share an earth?
It could also be that the fuel sender unit is old and the top quarter is just plain old worn out.
