Will be fitting a TX3440 tomorrow, or the day after...
I'm happy to spend some time with the test-light, but thought maybe someone has already done this and found an easily accessible 12V source under the dash?
Would prefer constant, and not switched thru ACC :thumb:

There is constant power at the rear of the screen at the top of the dash.. its really easy to get out jsut give it a firm pull..
if u want to get the actual cd player out all u need is a couple of skewers and that comes out WAY to easy

Hi subi - I'm interested in knowing where you're gonna mount it. I've got a UHF, & RT set to go into mine, & don't particulary want to drill holes everywhere. I'm thinking best option, might be under the drivers seat for both, for me............
Cheers.

Gday HC- My TX3440 UHF is a model where the radio body gets mounted under the seat or behind the dash and all the functions are controlled from the mic :thumb: Hoping to get away without drilling a single hole as all I have to secure somewhere visible is the mic bracket...

Mounting the aerials for UHF and phone will be the tricky part as I will be installing some Lightforce 240s on the nudgebar and that leaves no-where for aerials
Will let you know how I get on mate

We just had 2 Uniden remote head unit fitted into our utes, Gme make a great Polished SS aerial mount to suit the 76mm tube on the nudge bar. Quick and easy to install and no holes needed.:waycool:

Got the radio installed ;) Tapped in to power behind the media-display screen (thanks crankcruiser). Hardest part was finding a location for the body of the radio in behind the dash
Cheers!
PS: No triton was harmed by drilling holes during the installation of this radio :D

Tritor, I mounted the main "body" of the 3440 inside the lower dash panel, directly under the steering column - there is a piece of angle metal under there about right for the bracket of the radio - the curly mic cord comes out in the gap just below the cig lighter. I reckon you could do the same with the 3420, and mount the remote head somewhere under that lighter area :thumb:
I have my UHF & phone aerials on Electrophone brackets on the sports-bar, the coax runs down behind the cab and up thru a grommet in the rear floor (under the carpet about where the passenger's feet would be)...
Hope that helps!
