First off I'm in no way affiliated/associated with the people in the link.

Found this place that sell those wind up LED torches for around AUD$11 to your door. :thumb:

Hopefully I get it soon. :D

When it arrives,
give us a report on its battery life after 5min of charging ;)
Mine lasted over 24hrs till it stopped shining.
I give it a whirl whenever I go past it to keep the batts up.
It was a cheapie Christmas pressie last year.

I got the Waeco windup one as part of the subscription deal with the mag. Worked ok for a short while then the off/on switch started sticking, and it wont turn on or off.

So it now sits in the cupboard.

Treat it real niiiiice...

I gave a $10 Bunnings job an 'endurance test' and destroyed it before lunch time when I was working there. I'll admit I wasn't treating it like one should, but I wasn't purposely trying to break it (at first).
Ripped it apart and found the gears don't mesh very well so they stripped clean after a few hours of 'enthusiastic' winding. Will probably last for $11 worth but keep in mind it's probably not bulletproof.

I also have a Waeco one. 2 years and works as well as the day I got it.

torch seems bright enough, didn't go crazy winding it up full pelt.

I bought some little squeezable ones from the markets for $2.50 each. Wish I'd bought more now. Not a lot of light, but a damn sight better than the torch that never ever seemed to have good batteries in it. They are so cheap, I've lberally seeded the car, camping gear, backpacks and toolbox with them.

NET PC DIRECT, Pump Action Dynamo Torch, Wind up torch, LED Torch, No Battery Torch (http://www.netpcdirect.co.uk/dtorch_pump.php)

Yea the Waeco ones work well. Use ours a lot at bed time the kids use it to keep the 'Wombats' away while were camping - Oh well at least they don't have to spend their morning coffee winding it up

I got a WAECO inverter and wind up torch as part of mag subscription. Haven't used inverter yet but torch now sit by daughters bed. 1 min of winding each night gives enough power to last till morning - she uses it as a night light.

Great bit of kit! No recharging batteries every day.
