Test drove a VR Triton today.... the dealer had only just got it on the lot and didn't know too much about the spec levels compared to the GLX-R.
I was under the impression the VR spec was the same as the GLX-R minus the nudge bar, sports bar and hard ute lid. But I noticed this VR was missing the Bluetooth phone module.......are there any other differences I didn't notice?
Dealer had no brochures on the VR and the Mitsu web site is just as bad.

WooHoo, thats a good thing for those of us that have removed the hard lid and bars, now there is hope for us to sell them.....
Pretty hard to get rid of them at the moment as majority of people that buy the Triton ae getting the GLXR, the only GLX Tritons I've seen have been company cars / work utes with alloy trays....
Thanks for sharing the different specs, I had no idea what the diff was...
Shane.

Hmmmm - I'd take a rear bar, but freight here to Un Zed would be a problem...................!!!

While that page lists prices for the VR, the spec sheet PDF on that page does not include any information on the VR.......
I have looked everywhere on the Mitsu site and cannot find anything on the VR

Yeah they have not put anything up yet for the VR and the new diesel auto. Mitsubishi described it to me as being in between the GLX and GLX-R. Basically a GLX-R without the barwork.

Visited Bathurst Mitsubishi today. Really knowledgable sales manager there.
The VR is the GLX-R without the nudge bar, sports bar, ute lid and Bluetooth.....everything else is exactly the same. A good move by Mitsubishi to offer this model. It is perfect for those like me who want to add a canopy and winch bar, you are not paying for all those shiny alloy bits that will take up space in the roof of the shed. ;-)
Just waiting to get the bad news on the trade in valuation of my Bravo.
Had a black VR in stock, it looked great, but as my driveway is 800metres of dirt (and when it rains....mud) the black one would look permantly grotty.
Silver, white or (at a stretch) planet red....yep, those are the safe dirt hiding colours....

Na dont go for platoon , go for Hyper blue and I can sell you my hard top then. The VR came out two weeks after I signed up for my GLXR, about $2500 diff. would have made paying for the ARB canopy and roof rack a bit less painless.

I too just ordered a new VR Triton and didnt realise it didnt have blue tooth, the hand brake isnt happy. it doesnt really bother me because I got the diff lock !!! the dealership I went to didnt even know about the VR let alone the specs but I was told it was the same as the GLX-R minus bar work and hard top.

The blutooth in my GLXR works most of the time properly but can be a bit hit and miss as to whether it connects, went to the dealer about it and they doont seem to interested saying that all blutooths are a bit like that. Your are probably better off with the deal you got and fit a good quality blu tooth yourself. There has been a bit of talk about this issue with some of the other forum guys too.
(Do you want a cyber blue hard top by any chance)

We had the textured one from ARB fitted along with the roof bar and rack, ( which by the way ARB guys some of the bolts weren't tightened up ) Going off ARBs price list with lift up windows all round, textured finish standard roof which is priced the same as a high roof. Fitted, canopy only $2214.00, smooth according to the price list is $2567.00. I think that if you only had sliding windows in the sides it was about $220 less

just get a sony head unit with blue tooth built in.. 450 bucks (and you can use the volume knob for the volume (mate just put one in his patrol)
or the bluetooth parrot base model which is what the bluetooth in the triton is.. costs 350 retail
